Murder 
R-v-P.D Central Criminal Court

Conspiracy to murder, 4 defendants, high profile, case involved firearms.

Further to a PII application, two weeks before trial the CPS offered no evidence. Not guilty verdicts returned.

R-v-M.F-C Central Criminal court

Murder, victim sustained 9 stab wounds, M.F-C pleaded guilty to lesser charge of manslaughter on a significantly lesser role in a basis of plea negotiated with by the defence team.  Sentence to 4 and half years after lengthy mitigation made on behalf of the defence, for manslaughter.

 

R-v-K.A Croydon Crown Court (moved due to Central Criminal court being full)

Murder, 5 defendants, stabbing in residential street in broad day light, after a stand off with machetes, K.A only defendant to be acquitted.

 

R-v-K.H Central Criminal Court

Murder, 3 defendants, case involved a stabbing with a machete to the neck of the victim.  Two trials, one stopped part way through and jury discharged.  At re trial CPS case was K.H was the stabber and only other people present at scene were friends of the victim.  K.H acquitted.

R-v-W.M Central Criminal Court

Charges of murder, two attempted murders and perverting the course of justice.  W.M was charged along side his brother who's street name was Freddie Krueger after the character in the film Nightmare on Elm Street.  Case involved the contract killing of a Turkish boss of Tottenham Turks in a long standing feud between rival gangs, the attempted murder of two others, one of which was the get away driver, who failed to destroy the get away vehicle.

R-v-N.O Central Criminal Court

Murder, case involved a shooting of a male in a cul de sac, N.O reversed into the road as the victim walked into the road, client only person who drove out immediately after the victim was shot. N.O acquitted after 90 minutes.  

Firearms

R-v-P.D Inner London Crown Court

Conspiracy to transfer and supply firearms, 5 defendants, P.D acquitted after trial.

R-v-G.S Birmingham Crown Court

Conspiracy to transfer firearm from Tottenham to Birmingham, G.S also charged with importation of class a drugs through Heathrow airport with the use of staff at baggage control.

R-v-S.C Central Criminal Court

S.C charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, 6 defendants all charged with multiple offences including murder and perverting the course of justice, two guns found at S.C home address, one of which was used in a murder.  S.C acquitted after lengthy trial.

R-v-R.T Woolwich Crown Court

R.T one of three defendants charged with possession of firearm with intent to endanger life.  R.T was driving his car, hard stop by firearms police, a gun was found in glove box in a Gucci bag. R.T acquitted after trial.

R-v-R.D Woolwich Crown Court

R.D one of two defendants charged with possession of firearm with intent to endanger life, R.D was in a van being chased by the police.  The van had a bullet hole in the side of it.  Firearm thrown out of vehicle. R.D only one acquitted.

R-v-M.M Kingston Crown Court

MM and another charged with possession with intent to endanger life.  MM was on police bail for two years prior to being charged.  Complainant became a hostile witness at trial and the judge warned him he would be arrested for contempt of court.  MM acquitted.

Robbery and Kidnap

R-v-I.M Manchester Crown Court

I.M one of four charged with aggravated burglary.  Victim was a war veteran who was stabbed multiple times in the leg at his home address.  Successfully negotiated a lesser charge of burglary for I.M burglary. All other defendants charged with aggravated burglary.

 

R-v-R.M Southampton Crown Court

R.M one of eight charged with robbery of a Jewellers to the value of £600, 000.  Security guard was threatened to be beheaded.  Case involved vast amounts of cell site and telephone evidence including telematics from the vehicles used.

R-v-L.A Kingston Crown Court

L.A one of four defendants charged with conspiracy to commit robbery a commercial premises.  Various observations of client driving to do a recce.  Successfully negotiated a plea to the lesser charged of conspiracy to steal.  After lengthy mitigation client sentenced to a suspended sentence.  All other defendants received custodial sentences for robbery.

R-v-K.B St Alban's Crown Court

K.B charged with conspiracy to commit robbery on 9 Argos stores and a Serco van at gun point.  K.B had been at large for several years prior to being arrested. Case involved thousands of pages of telephone and cell site evidence.

R-v-R.D Inner London Crown Court

R.D charged with kidnap, false imprisonment and assault.  Witness reported a man being bundled into a boot of clients car, complainant attended hospital with injuries and pictures of the complainant was found on the R.D telephone.  Successful negotiation with the CPS and a lesser charge of ABH was accepted and the remaining charges discontinued.

R-v-R.D Inner London Crown Court

R.D one of five defendants charged with kidnap, false imprisonment and robbery.  Acquitted at trial at half time after a successful application of no evidence.

Drug conspiracies

R-v-R.D Inner London Crown Court

R.D one of five defendants charged with conspiracy to supply class a drugs over a 5 month period.  CPS said R.D and his brother were the leaders of the conspiracy to supply class a drugs in a case which used under cover officers, surveillance footage set up in a corridor of housing block where drugs were concealed in ceiling tiles and flat which was said to be a trap house. RD seen on footage lifting and moving ceiling tiles. RD acquitted.

R-v-S.L Woolwich Crown Court

S.L one of five defendants charged with conspiracy to supply class a drugs over.  100 officers  executed warrants at various addresses to bust an organised criminal network. Drugs and paraphernalia found in S.L home. S.L acquitted at trial.

R-v-K.M Inner London Crown Court

K.M was charged with possession with intent to supply class a drugs.  A large amount of police raided his home and one saw him throw what appeared to be white substances from his window.  As there was not a statement from an officer who seized drugs from the garden, there was a lack in continuity and therefore no proof the drugs seized were from K.D address.  Legal argument on day of trial resulting in K.D being acquitted.

R-v-R.G Kingston Crown Court

R.G charged with conspiracy to supply class a drugs.  Acquitted at trial.

R-v-S.ES Kingston Crown Court

S.ES charged with conspiracy to supply class a drugs, involved the use of telephone and cell site experts detailing that S.ES was co locating with others in the conspiracy. Despite S.ES having previously convictions for drug supply.  S.ES was acquitted at trial.

R-v-D.B Kingston Crown Court

D.B charged with conspiracy to supply over a tonne of cocaine over an 18 month period, involving a number of other defendants.  First trial stopped and jury discharged due to an allegation of police corruption as a result of a satellite navigation being damaged.  Second trial D.B found not guilty of one charge and a hung jury in relation to other charge.  On the third trial the CPS produced 20,000 messages from an encrypted PGP phone.  Resulting in D.B conviction.

R-v-J.L Kingston Crown Court

J.L charged with others for conspiracy to import class a drugs.  Involves surveillance, encrochat messages and celll site reports. On going.

Sexual offences

R-v-MM and K.B Kingston Crown Court

Both clients charged with rape, which involved acts of sexual activity in a 7 seated cab with the complainant and and both defendants.  Complainant was intoxicated on arriving at friends house and said she couldn't recall giving consent to have sex with both defendants. A toxicologist was instructed which assisted the defence case.  Case involved the analysis of CCTV and delicate cross examination of witnesses.  K.B acquitted after successful half time submission of no case to answer and MM acquitted after trial.
